Have fun everyone- I wish I could be there too! I hope everyone arrives safely and meets other people who are just as in love with yearbook as they are. I’m rooting for each and every one of you in your individual competitions and the announcement of Crown winners! I know how hard you work on your book and how much you deserve these awards.
Take a lot of photos (you can use them for recruitment) and use all of the yearbook apparel as room decoration! Don’t forget to take notes and all listen intently to the amazing speakers. Good luck and keep me updated via messages on tumblr and some variation of #cspa on twitter!
And by orphans and widows, I mean when there is a large block of text and then the next line only has one word. In my opinion, that one word ruins the whole spread.
Here’s an easy fix: add two more words somewhere in the copy so that one word at the end will have a friend! (Or parent, or husband) This is going too far
This is a video about the 10 commandments of design. I was actually laughing hysterically while watching it. It’s too funny!
Look at this prank editors of the same staff as the commandments video played on their staff after a convention! I’m hoping to convince next year’s staff to play the same prank- the inclusion of Comic Sans is a must!

After attending the SIPA convention in South Carolina last week, some of the other editors and I decided to test the rest of our staff. Since we’re now done and have submitted our book, we were planning next years already, we told the staff this and that we would reveal the theme and cover the next week. We created the most horrific theme and cover we could come up with that was somewhat believable.

We’re pretty big into Timeflies Tuesdays. here’s a link if you’ve never hear of them: Timeflies. My favorite has to be “Under the Sea.”
